Freshers is on at Forth valley, Its already been in Alloa, its just left Stirling and its coming to Falkirk tomorrow. This is gonna be a post to let people know what they missed (or in the instance of Falkirk campus students, what to look forward to).
There were quite a few stalls, all were offering insight into what they do and some even gave you sweets, pens and other cool loot (you didn't even have to listen to them, bit rude if you were to do that though).
Fast Forward, Scottish Fire and rescue service, Forth valley college mental health and well being service, Forth valley fitness, are all dedicated to the health and safety, by providing people to reach out to if your struggling, advice on how to keep yourself safe.
There was quite a few stalls dedicated to supporting students like, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire young adult carers, Learning resources centre, Learning support, Who Cares Scotland. All of these seek to aid people with different things, learning difficulties, being a young adult carer.
The few remaining stalls were Bridge 2 Business which was advice on starting up an independent business, The electoral registration office informs you about and encourages you to vote.
The Forth valley make up artistry course stall was by students for students, it was a couple of them, putting their learning into practice, by allowing the general student body the ability to go up and get make up applied to them, they were also doing face painting (some of it was very cool), and they were even giving away a few freebies in the form of shampoo, combs and hairbrushes (there may have been more but I arrived quite late).
There was a sole student advertising his dungeons and dragons club, they haven't started meeting yet this year, but if you are interested, feel free to join, as of writing this they have around 10 members.
Now onto the fun stuff, there was plenty of goodies to be had, I for one picked up a stress ball, highlighter and pens, but there was plenty of other free loot to be had, small characters, bags and pens galore, among much more. There was also a mini golf set up, granted it was outside and not the best of days for it, but it was super fun regardless.
